The ladies got together and hosted a shower for the soon to be Mrs. Wardrip. We had a great time fellowshipping over the variety of finger foods everyone brought. And of course, no fancy get together would be complete without Mrs. Gunter's ginger ale punch. Everything turned out so nicely. The first game was a ring game where everyone started out with the same number of rings. From that moment on the word "wedding" was no longer allowed to be said or you lost a ring. Rebecca started out with sonar ears and got the first one. That was funny. After the meal we played "How well do you know Rebecca". Surprisingly only her mom got more than half right. In all fairness, Rebecca did say that some of the questions were hard because they could have more than one answer. Next, she walked around the room in an apron that had mostly kitchen utensils attached to it. When she left the room, the ladies were to recall what items were in the pocket of the apron. We had a tie of the exact items. The last game was a "He said - She said" kind of game. Out of 24 questions that Nate answered, only 11 of Rebecca's answers matched his. She had quite a wad of gum to chew. lol And then presents! So many kitchen gifts were given that she says she'll need a bigger kitchen, Nate. Thank you each and every one of you that helped! It was a blessing!
Every Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. children ages 4 through 6th grade meet to learn songs about our Creator. After we've practiced them several times the children have the opportunity to sing before the evening service the 3rd Sunday of every month during the evening service. It's a blessing to watch these kids grow in their talents. While they enjoy being able to sing for their Lord, their family, and their friends the church enjoys hearing them just as much or more. We'd love to have more young singers! If your child is interested in joining, please see Ms. Zoe.
So you like to play volleyball? Or maybe you just like lemonade and popcorn? Whatever your reasons you should come be a part of #swbcfamily Volleyball Nights! There is a playground for the younger children and you're welcome to bring their scooters or bicycles for them to ride while the adults and older kids play volleyball. Sometimes the wind gives one team a disadvantage, but we switch sides after each game so it's fair. The weather cools off as the sun goes down. There's some good natured braggart talk, but it's all in jest. We've got some sweet ladies that make drinks and popcorn for refreshments while we play. Even if you think you're not that good, come and enjoy the fellowship!

Water Wars 2017 #swbcteens
Last year was our first at #campcedarhills in Binger, OK. Brother Frank went there with his youth group as a teen, so it's no wonder he knows a lot of the adults who still attend. Brother John Nelson from Vandament Avenue Baptist in Yukon, Ok has hosted the camp there for many years. Even though it was #swbcteens first year there we were all made to feel a part. It was great to see "old" friends again this year! After we saw how points were accumulated during competition we decided we'd be bringing a trophy back this year - and we did. Not just one, but two! The teens worked hard to make that happen. We have a GREAT group of young people at #swbcmidland! God is good!
