When Brother Frank was a teenager, his youth group competed in puppets at camp. Who knew there was a certain way to hold your arm and thumb? Also, how important it is to keep the puppets moving is something learned at this teen activity. Choosing the skits was interesting. It's sometimes surprising to see who volunteers for which event. Can hardly wait for #swbcteencamp!!
This was our first year at #campcedarhills in Binger, OK. There's 160 acres of beautiful hills, green trees, and a long lake - things people who live in West Texas don't see often. The camp schedule starts with prayer and a devotion at the flag pole with Pastor John Nelson from Vandament Avenue in Yukon, OK. From there we hit the ground running from breakfast to chapel, competitions, lunch, more competitions and some free time, dinner, evening service and then the final competitions of the day. Being our first year we didn't understand the full concept of Teen Camp here, but next year we'll be prepared! We're gearing up for #swbcteencamp 2017!
When we get together for a fellowship there's always fun to be had. We take time to plan what the decor will be, what games we'll play, and what food we'll serve. Everybody dresses nicely and some lucky ladies get a corsage. It's nice to take time to celebrate our Sweethearts. The Valentine's Banquet is something to look forward to! Thank you to every person who helped with the 2016 #swbcvalentinesbanquet!
It's with great appreciation for all the military that we honor our veterans. This year we presented each of the #swbc veterans a plaque for their time in the service. We took a few minutes during morning worship to let them know that we're thankful for them. Afterwards the veterans and their families were served a delicious meal in the fellowship hall. We've made a commemorative plaque that hangs in our foyer with each of our veterans names engraved. God bless you all!
